The WAR Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization with the sole mission of raising funds to preserve the history of the veterans that have served this great Nation and work with the community in preserving the past present and future of the armed forces legacy. These funds will go to the building or renovations of War Memorial parks, monuments and facilities.
Our Mission
To honor the service of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and to educate families and children who live in freedom
All veterans have friends from their service years that influenced them, supported them, helped them, taught them something, made them laugh or cry. Our mission is to help preserve those memories.
Most Americans have a Veteran in their family. Most us have memories of a relative being in the military, or how it felt when a loved one was away, or at the dinner table, hearing a few phases in a foreign language learned while on tour somewhere in the world. Our mission is to help to preserve their memory.
The future of our country’s freedom depends on raising future generations to know the honor of serving their country. Our mission is to help children to know the stories of the many memories of Veterans and their families.
What Motivates Us
Thousands of Triad residents have bravely served their country in both war and public service. These men and women served in battles from World War II through the current Gulf Wars as well as serving to protect our communities. They continue to remain active in their communities providing assistance in many capacities.
Without knowledge there is no memory. Many residents of the Triad have no idea that living and walking among us are heroes from Iwo Jima, Saipan, Guadalcanal, Okinawa, Midway, the Philippines, Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo, Somalia, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Iraq and many other expeditionary missions. When you add the generations that have developed from the hard work of our remembered veterans and families, the interest then takes on a much larger perspective.
