It is a must that we show our patriotism to the work force in our community. Most Veterans gauge a community on how the military is welcomed and supported. Revenues in construction, maintenance and tourism have rippled through the local economy. Materials used on the site, such as granite, mortar and brick are all native to the area and to North Carolina.
The Carolina Field of Honor is meaningful to every occupation in the Triad because veterans serve in every aspect of the work force; teachers, administrators, law enforcement, firefighters, medical professionals, lawyers, corporate executives and the carpenters, electricians and plumbers that build our community.
Students and tourists can stroll down a walkway marked with plaques commemorating the legends and conflicts in which our heroes prevailed in both war and peacetime.
Other amenities include a fountain, pavilions, picnic tables, restrooms, and landscaping. All areas are handicap accessible.
